Father John Earl to be Honored

We were heartened by the news of the damage done to the abortuary in Rockford, Illinois by Fr. John Earl. Anytime the work of childslaughter is abated, God’s people rejoice. And so, it is with disappointment that we read about “prolife” fools in nearby Rockford who have been fooled into condemning that which is good. Parishioner Jim Altham, of nearby St. Mary Church said, “This is not going to be won by driving cars into buildings.”

Typical of the response to such effectual actions taken in defense of the womb children, the leadership of his church failed to honor one of its courageous servants. The Diocese of Rockford issued a written statement in response which included the following: “It has never been nor is it the policy of the Roman Catholic Church to condone, approve or promote violence in any form to achieve a desired end.”

The fact that the record of history is replete with evidence to the contrary regarding the Roman Catholic Church’s attitude toward “violence” aside, the denunciation of Fr. Earl’s life saving deed is scandalous. How does the Diocese condemn the murder of innocents on the one hand and condemn the rescue of them on the other?

Happily, Father Earl shall receive honor closer to what he deserves on 21 January at the annual White Rose Banquet in Washington D. C.

The Fifth Annual White Rose Banquet will also honor ex-cons Marjorie Reed from Ohio and Dennis Malvasi from New York, both of whom recently completed parole after serving several years in federal prisons.
