Michael Bray

Author of A Time To Kill

What Do I Do?

And what do I do?
Read and write poetry,
Of course, and why not?
It keeps the mind hot
Stirring thoughts of the world
And our lives unfurled
As we look at the Book
And consider Him who took
Himself out of that heaven
And came down here even
To hang with gross sinners
With no assurance of dinners.
Yeah, He took a real chance
Coming down here to dance
To the tune His Father had set,
One that the church would not forget.
And every week we celebrate,
Thankful that he kept that date
With death and came right back
To give us all that we lack,
Meeting more than all our needs,
Carrying His promise to our seeds.
