Deut. Ten

Gudgodah!  What a place to go
Aaron dead and enemies to dread
Wandering hither and yon
No regular place to lay your head.
Those Israelites had it rough
But the Lord was making ’em tough
Shoring up their resolve to follow
Turning from attractions shallow
What better offers were given
Than to obey the God of heaven?
And yet ever more whining and dining
They murmured from day to day
Said the Lord to them, “Now Israel,
What does the Lord require of you
But to walk, love and serve them too?”
You know the whole world belongs to Him
Yet you turn your backs on a whim!
Chill out and loosen your neck!
He’ll beat you! What the heck?!
The God, Great and Mighty takes no bribe
Executes justice for widow and orphan
And makes you numerous as heaven
He is your praise
To worship and serve
All your days
