Divorce and Apostates
God does indeed “divorce” those persons who continue in sin. He hates to reject them, but He must. Holiness, His nature, requires it. He must remain forever the one, true, holy God. He will properly judge sinners with what they deserve – hell (eternal punishment, separation from Himself, and this goes on forever).
It is difficult to fathom the magnitude of this condition. Eternal separation from the Lord, Creator, Savior (Second Person of the Trinity).
So it is when we consider cutting of others from ourselves: family members, church members, friends.
We know that we are saved by grace and we would extend that grace to others – lest it be denied us!
But there are lines to be drawn. There are boundaries. There is an end to the extension of opportunity. There is an end to forbearance and patience. There is an end to life.
Judgment Day comes. And it comes for EVERYONE, even those who don’t believe in it or the God who declares it so.
No one need be divorced from Him. The Son has been given for each one. And yet, even with that gracious offering from THE holy God, fools ignore this grace and go about their perverse, vain, stupid pursuit of their own pleasures, their own inklings, hobbies, and relaxations.
O vanity! O stupidity! O idiocy! Flee such, and free, O Lord, such fools to follow Him!
May all whom we love come to Him on bended knees.
