A Friendship

A friendship takes a minimum of two;
A fellowship, perhaps, at least three.
So it is with the holy Trinity.
From eternity they knew each other
The three in love all together.
‘Twas a long time before the world
And finally bringing man on the scene.
The eternal God of the universe lives
As He has from eternity past
In need of no creation, no man
Alone, the three, they can stand.
And when man was brought on the scene
What was his purpose to man did it seem?
Not fun and pleasure and selfish indulgence
But in His fellowship enriching intelligence:
Knowledge of holy and might Creator
The very One who would be the Savior.
And in service that One His glory to bring
To all the world His praises to sing.
