That Dead Squirrel in the Street
There’s a dead squirrel on Lincoln Street;
I’ve walked by him a thousand times.
What to do but look at those remains
And know that we got a big difference;
We humans are just not the same!
Got that image of God, Image Dei,
Written all over our skin and within.
So when I see that critter in the street,
I don’t take from anyone heat!
I know what’s right and I know what’s wrong;
That squirrel is a critter like a song.
He’s for us to enjoy, not to worship!
There is only One at the top o’ the ship
Who guides our paths and keeps our lives
And the one who follows Him survives!
