Wanted to Whomp Those Southern Boys
2 Chron 25
Amaziah served the Lord with half a heart (2)
Killed the servants who killed his daddy (3)
But spared the kids in accordance with the Law (4)
(Got to punish sin without messin’ with kin).
Yeah, he rounded up the people of Judah;
Spared the kids, not like those who follow Buddha.
Set up commanders of hundreds and thousands (5)
Recruited all who could handle a spear!
But the man of God said, “No!”
“Don’t be actin’ like some mojo! (7)
Get those Ausies on your side;
You be in for a nasty ride!”
Said, “But I already done paid the troops; (9)
Had to jump through all kinds o’ hoops.
Can’t take back the money, make ’em mad!
This plan you got is really bad!”
“You think the Lord don’t know?” said the prophet
“You can win or lose or He can stop it.”
So he sent them home and they were mad! (10)
Wanted to whoop those southern boys bad.
