A Cripple Lame in Both Feet

2 Sam. 9:12-10:17

Mica was the son of Mephibosheth
A cripple who was lame in both feet (9:13)
But that’s got nothin’ to do
With what I’m about to tell you.
It happened that the king of the Ammonites died
And his son, Hanun, took his place (10:1)
David said, I got to be kind to Hanun.
His daddy was mighty good to me.” (10:12)
He sent some fellows down for consolation
And the Ammonite princes told some lies
Said David sent to men to serve as spies! (3)
Yeah, those boys from Ammon were liars!
Makes a patient fellow sick and tired.
Took David’s servants and shaved off half their beards!
Cut off their garments right up to the hips! (4)
Said, “Whoa!  Wait ’til your beards grow!” (5)
So the sons of Ammon gathered some men (6)
And drew up ready for battle (8)
But Joab saw all the rattle (9)
And rounding up his own men to fight (9)
Made a deal with Abishai, his brother
To whip those Ammonites like no other (10)
Said, “Help me.  It’s your duty true
And if you need it, I’ll do the same for you. (11)
But whatever the case, we got to be strong (12)
By God’s grace, we’ll sing that victory song” (12)
Well, the Arameans did run away (13)
The Ammonites saw it and said, “Good day!
We’re out o’ here too!   Got nothin’ to say!” (14)
