Valor from First Samuel

(Chapter 30)

A third of the men were weary
So he took the four hundred.
Two where too tired to fight (30:10)
And he found an Egyptian half dead
Who showed David the enemy’s location (16).
He whooped up on those Amalekites
And took back what they had taken
Including two wives sons and daughters, (19)
Sheep, cattle and other livestock.
“David’s spoil” was all the talk. (20)
And whether one guarded the bags or went to war
Each shared alike in the victory store. (24)
