Consternation

O the consternation
Off one sitting in contemplation:
The things left undone
While on the run
Chasing duties ’til the sun
Falls down below the horizon
And then, even beyond
Those duties thwarted by cuties
Comes the reminder
That all will be tallied
When sinners are rallied
Before the One who came
Bearing all the shame
Of the those He made
Fallen into the shade
Of rebellion and pride
And how they hide
From the call of His Word
To take it to all
And meet Him soon
In that heavenly hall
