Tribute to Claudia Colvin

She was the wife of my co-pastor, Mike Colvin, at Reformation Lutheran Church. She passed, very recently, into the presence of the Lord: Father, Son and Spirit, whom she diligently served and honored with her life.

When we think of Claudia, the words “diligent, jovial optimism” come to mind.

Little explanation is due.  She was always ready with a laugh.  Yes, she could be a serious critic – but from which more laughter could be derived.

She poured herself into her marriage, her children, and her church.  She got it right.

There are few, whom I have met, who match her level of joviality, character and service among people.   And adorning these qualities, she had brains.  (Missing mine these days, I am appreciate of those who still have them.)  And she was a combatant for the Kingdom.

Loyalty is another feature she possessed. And that is one we all need to value and cultivate.  She set an example for my children and many others to follow.

May the peace of the Lord be with the Colvins as they mourn her loss, but rejoice in her entrance into the presence of our Lord and His saints.

With thanksgiving and appreciation,

Mike and Jayne Bray

P.s. – A rational natural Christian perspective:

We are sorry that Claudia passed – ahead of us – into glory.  But we will console ourselves knowing that all will be properly understood when we are together with her, and many others, there with our Lord.
