Forgiveness
Always available, but when applied?
Upon confession and repentance:
An important condition for its application.
The blood of Christ is not accessed otherwise.
(He may, indeed, sovereignly apply His gift
To anyone He chooses at any time, of course.)
So for us cognizant and conscientious folks,
We are behooved to focus upon the turn
And thus with confidence avoid the burn.
Turn, confess sin, and receive the lift;
Might cause with some friends a rift,
But the trouble is outweighed by the benefits.
Wonderfully, it requires no exercise of your wits;
Receive His gift and be on your way.
You’re onto another life, a much brighter day.
