Our Self-congratulating Age

My radio commentator on the local classical station was recounting some time when the Beatles were banned from some place as if we ought to be glad to be living in a progressive age of liberty and justice when we are above banning the Beatles.
Hah! What asinine, self-reassuring hubris! Come back to realism: sin, corruption, murder, and cruelty! Humanity has made no strides apart from that which comes from the influence of the Spirit of God upon the hearts of sinners and their nations. When, by His Spirit, we bow to Him and His law and outlaw manstealing, race-based slavery, sodomy, and the slaughter of innocent children in the womb, then we may consider that we are progressing.
We continue in a slump as we tolerate what God detests; viz., pertinent to our times: sodomy and abortion.
