“This is my body!” said Jesus. Not, “This is my Covenant Sign”!
Come a little further, Presbies! Think incarnation of God. Miracle! Holy Spirit indwelling the Church. He is present, still, since Pentecost! With us!
Come to Luther!
Think: God with us. Think: God the Holy Spirit with us and in us.
“This is my body” and to eat and drink it unworthily brings on judgment in this life as well as the next.
There is something more than mere symbol going on with the Supper/Eucharist/Communion/Sacrament.
