Author of A Time To Kill

That (Fallen) Human Nature

‘Tis the proclivity of human beings
To denigrate one another
Whether by slavery of the past
Or “women’s rights” of the present
Wherein we pay for another
Our own child’s life to smother.
We escaped the folly of slavery
The heinous stealing of men
Only to fall to the greater sin
Of butchering helpless babies.
Who can deny that man is fallen:
A slave to a wicked nature?
Though we glory in his stature
As the bearer of that image divine,
Over his fall in sin we must whine
And cry and finally die!
But by His mercy and grace
There is alternate way for the race.
A Savior for us was sent to die
That we should not have to fry.
