The Love of Those Who Love Darkness

Those who love the darkness don’t love it as passionately as those who love the truth.  Yes, the wicked are incorrigible and have their minds set upon themselves, but their love  lacks the zeal of those who love God and His word.   Theirs is a love like that one might have for a dissident step-child rife with disappointment.   It is not a passionate, enduring love that would drive one to self-sacrifice.

Those who love the Truth know whence they have fallen and the desperate destiny that was theirs before the Rescuer intervened and dragged them from that pit of tar and heat and eternal death.

But there are those who, un-rescued,  continue in that darkness which they have grown to love.  And so they wander and yearn for that horrid land, as on they go with no end to their traipsing.  And love it they do as without a second thought they pursue that vapid vanity which never satisfies.  And so they go until they are swallowed away into that everlasting darkness and misery that cannot be comprehended by anyone on this side of the chasm.

It is a misery that can be avoided.  The light of that cross, brought by a Savior who carried it to aggravate His own death, still shines throughout the world.  The cross shows the way that all deserve and how by it, One conquered that unconquerable foe, even death.
