Tragedy or Triumph
If we lived for Him
We lived a life of triumph
No matter the troubles,
Regardless of the losses.
But if we served ourselves
And had no care for others
Following our whims and druthers,
We send ourselves to hell
Where others of like mind dwell.
Buck up then and run well
The course for you laid out!
The trials you must not flout
As you steer your course in vain
Looking for that life without pain!
The victory comes through death;
This life is but a breeze.
Sail well in it under His sneeze
As he shakes you up and down.
There is much in your corruption
Needing that heavenly attention.
Looking, then, from life’s end,
What in yours now must He bend?
