My Girl, More Precious Than a Pearl

What can I say of my girl?
What more than of a pearl,
Valuable among all treasures,
Delighting the eye with a measure
Beyond all things in the world?
Well, no pearl can compete with a child
Though some do get kind of wild
And who else can drive one insane
And entertain bringing joyful pain?
And a pearl cannot be a friend
Talking to you ’til night’s end.
And no pearl will laugh at your joke
Or join you in an occasional smoke.
Yeah, she is indeed the best girl ever
Got looks, patience, kindness, even clever;
She can keep that budget right tight.
Though I strain with all my might
To stretch it for this and for that,
She clamps down on me like I’m a rat
That needs to get caught in that trap.
So I try not to wine and give her crap
‘Cause I know she knows what’s up.
And I comply like well mannered pup.
