Author of A Time To Kill

Don’t Be a Mere Man!

Don’t be a mere man!
You’ve been called to much more;
A Temple you are with others,
All kinds of sisters and brothers!
You’ve go things to do (big time!);
Don’t be dragged down by petty crime.
Serve others, as well as kin in the Lord,
With boldness like a lion with his roar.
Go to those shores way over there,
Unobstructed by some petty care,
Or stick around your very own town
(There are needs unseen to be found);
Or take a good hike, if you like;
Give those dredges a spike.
Take those blues right on down;
Lose the misery and wipe off the frown.
“Head ’em up!” Got to buck up and go!
When duty calls, can’t ever say “No”!
