Didn’t Walk in the Ways of King Asa

(2 Chron. 21:12f)

Didn’t walk in the ways of King Asa,
Chose to play the harlot instead,
Killed his brothers and his own family;
Jehoram was a nasty kind of king.
So Elijay sent the king a letter (12)
“You failed to walk like Jehoshaphat.
You just haven’t got it like that!
Wanna be a man that is true?
Well, I’ll tell you what you got to do.
It’s like this: you got to repent!
(I’m sayin’ from the Lord I was sent.)
You’ve killed your brothers, your whole family! (13)
Who’s gonna eat with you, you turkey?
The Lord will strike you with calamity: (14)
Mess with your bowels so you can’t pee!” (15)
So the Lord stirred up those Philistines;
Came up against Judah and invaded. (17)
Smote Jehoahaz in the bowels with pain; (19)
Trouble came down like rain!
So Ahaziel was made king in his place.
All his brothers had been killed; no one in the race. (22:1)
He was just a tender twenty-two; (6)
Reigned a mere year and he was through. (2)
He walked in the ways of house of Ahab. (3)
Had a wicked momma name o’ Athalia. (2)
Didn’t give a rip about the true God, Yah (3)
