The Fall

Adam was black as the night
And Eve was white;
Their children spread o’er all the earth.
‘Twas a terrible fright
To the rest of the Kingdom:
Animals big and small.
Adam had the gall
To ruin it all by sin,
Turning the light to din.
A universal pity it was,
Setting the creatures abuzz,
Scrambling to adjust
To the chaos of the Fall.
He’d taken and thrown it all
Away like the end of a day.
The light was taken away.
One bite was for naught
As the darkness he brought,
The result of a foolish thought
That God’s word was untrue
And so the world was through!
