Way Back

Way back in the seventies
There was plenty of glee,
A time of romance and “Kathie Lee”
A champ was I on the mat
With a destiny for Annapolis.
‘Twas a prospect many cherished
Even while some to war would perish.
There to stay or leave I pondered
An opportunity not to be squandered
But out from thence I was kicked
And to the road set off and wandered
Not far or long and back to the Lord.
It is He who owns our souls
To whom all service and glory is due.
Time to forsake all and be true
To Him who came and died
Rose again and is seated on high
