If you will fight, get up off your knees;
It is God, not the world, that you must please.
He says to show your faith by your good works,
So get out of your chair, my child;
Your life is not going to be mild.
You know faith without works is
Worth less than a wiz.
Talk is cheap, so don’t sleep;
Awaken and get to work
Not lusting after the perks.
Heaven is yours to inherit,
Not on the basis of your merit.
But you have, indeed, a job to do;
Salvation is not the end of you.
It is the beginning of a new life
To be lived in both peace and strife.
You are against evil to contend,
Faithful to the very end.
