Author of A Time To Kill

Believe, Trust, and Obey

Well, one race it is, indeed, full of sin
In need of the Lord to win
The day and take it from the night
By means of His glorious light
That shines all over the world
As his mercy on man is unfurled.
Yes, many will stumble and be broken;
In lust and pride they’ll be soakin’.
There is no pride in a fallen human race;
Rejecting God, it is a disgrace.
He’s a stone to strike,
A rock to stumble over;
Israel fell all over the place,
Hung up on a thing called “race.”
Oh, the majesty of Jesus to behold!
No higher goal than to be in His fold!
How wonderful is His love for us
In no other may we put our trust.
He died for us, don’t you see?
To bring life to you and to me.
So it’s off to the race we must go,
But it isn’t such a heavy blow.
He’s running right by our side;
Go His arms out, open, and ready
To smack down enemies and keep us steady.
Now, whatever you do from here
You know He’s got you by the ear.
You’ve heard the Word and know it’s true;
Nothin’ else about it you can do
But believe, trust, and obey.
There is, simply, no other way.
So, off your ass and out of the class;
There are things you’ve got to do
(Lest your life’s agenda be through!)
You’ve breathed it in, so breathe it out!
Saved from hell, you got plenty o’ clout.
Counsel and comfort the sire-less;
House and protect the fatherless.
