{"id":88,"date":"2011-05-29T16:24:51","date_gmt":"2011-05-29T21:24:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelbray.org\/?p=88"},"modified":"2017-02-11T17:09:40","modified_gmt":"2017-02-11T22:09:40","slug":"dumpers-shakers-and-terminators-6132006","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/michaelbray.org\/?p=88","title":{"rendered":"Dumpers, Shakers, and Terminators 6\/13\/2006"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Can\u2019t make any moral sense of the Lawless authorities in this land.\u00a0 On Friday, 9 June, 2006, 22-year-old Amber Swain was tried in court for murder, near Dayton, Ohio, 20 miles from my house.\u00a0 She shook her six-month-old daughter to death.\u00a0 Seems the child\u2019s head hit something in the process.\u00a0 Clark County Judge Douglas Rastatter sentenced her to life in prison with parole eligibility at 15 years after a jury deliberated for five hours before finding Amber Swain guilty of involuntary manslaughter and murder.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day of the trial, I got a call from the <em>Washington Post<\/em> inquiring after any acquaintance I might have with one Robert Weiler who was arrested that day &#8211;\u00a0 within 20 miles of my former residence in Maryland. Weiler\u00a0 was \u201ccharged with building a pipe bomb he allegedly wanted to use to attack\u201d a Greenbelt abortuary.\u00a0 He also announced his intentions to shoot those who butcher babies.\u00a0 He appeared in federal court yesterday wearing an antiabortion T-shirt on which was written: &#8220;Help Cure Abortion&#8221; and &#8220;ABORTION: The leading cause of death in America&#8221; (<em>Washington Post<\/em>, 13 June).<\/p>\n<p>Two days later, on Sunday, 11 June, A newborn girl was found dead in a trash bin near a home in California.\u00a0 Authorities reported this on Monday and CBS announced it that day as a \u201cTop Story\u201d in Montebello, California on Channel 2.\u00a0 The report was quite succint:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The body was discovered Sunday in the the 900 block of West Olympic Boulevard, according to the Montebello Police Department.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe&#8217;s office reported that the girl&#8217;s body was found in a trash bin.
