{"id":4745,"date":"2021-06-08T13:15:47","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T18:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelbray.org\/?p=4745"},"modified":"2021-06-08T13:17:49","modified_gmt":"2021-06-08T18:17:49","slug":"what-about-that-man-tchaikovsky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/michaelbray.org\/?p=4745","title":{"rendered":"What About that Man Tchaikovsky?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tchaikovsky, like mankind described by St. Paul in Romans (chapter 7), was a notoriously difficult man when it came to matters of the heart. &nbsp;After marrying one of his students, Antonina Miliukova, he immediately realized that wedded life was not for him.&nbsp; He said: &#8220;There&#8217;s no doubt that for some months on end I was a bit insane and only now, when I&#8217;m completely recovered, have I learned to relate objectively to everything which I did during my brief insanity.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tchaikovsky didn&#8217;t have an easy time of it. He suffered from depression throughout his life, after his mother died in 1854 and his 13-year relationship with Nadezhda von Meck collapsed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is much speculation surrounding Tchaikovsky&#8217;s death in 1893. It happened only nine days after he conducted the premiere of his Symphony No. 6 (one of his most impassioned works), but differing sources attribute it to cholera, his drinking and smoking.&nbsp; Some suspect suicide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hmmm:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So Tchaikovsky was a fag <br>And we owe him, then, some tribute <br>Give chastity the boot <br>That&#8217;s what they say today: <br>From the Law run away! <br>Do your own kind of thing <br>A gay song to sing! <br>Ah, we&#8217;re all born in sin <br>With perverse and wicked hearts! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No!
