{"id":3089,"date":"2019-12-13T11:56:49","date_gmt":"2019-12-13T16:56:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelbray.org\/?p=3089"},"modified":"2019-12-13T12:00:24","modified_gmt":"2019-12-13T17:00:24","slug":"a-case-for-execution-by-hanging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/michaelbray.org\/?p=3089","title":{"rendered":"A Case for Execution by Hanging"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>13 Dec., 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is believed by many moderns that hanging is a &#8220;cruel and unusual&#8221; punishment. &nbsp;&nbsp;Even a quick, painless execution is deemed unconscionable by many who presume to know a justice above and beyond that which is dictated by the Creator.&nbsp; But to argue with the fool &#8211; he who believes in neither a Creator nor his bona fide Law &#8211; is vanity, perhaps.&nbsp; But, argue we must if we have any hope for establishing justice in this world.&nbsp; (Yes, we shall never arrive at perfect justice, just as we shall never personally achieve perfection, but we press on, ever pursuing that goal.&nbsp; That is our Christian and human mission by Divine design.)&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hanging as an Influence for Deterrence <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Part of God&#8217;s plan in dealing out justice in THIS world is\nto provide a <em>deterrent<\/em> for\ncriminally-oriented folks.&nbsp; That\ndeterrent, despite the objection that it does not work for the very\nhard-hearted, does work for the average sinner.&nbsp;\nDeterring evil-doers from carrying out <em>all<\/em> their evil inclinations and intentions is a <em>good<\/em> thing.&nbsp; And since capital punishment arguable serves\nas a deterrent as well as just punishment for capital crimes, it is best &#8211; and\nmost just &#8211; to re-establish and apply this effective remedy for misbehavior. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hanging as a Merciful Option For Carrying Out Justice For Capital Crimes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hanging, especially publically carried out, is &#8211; one may\nimagine &#8211; a most effective means to instruct and influence citizens to take\nstock of themselves and strive for the maintenance of good character and\nbehavior.&nbsp; It is merciful from the\nperspective of another Judgment to come.
