Hello Chance!
You have served your country well – first in the popular military, and then with excellence in protecting “the least of these” – the unborn in America – a less popular service.
As you have done well on “the outside,” I hope you can to the same on “the inside.” There is plenty of ministry in prison to be done. The gospel goes forth in prisons, and the Lord sends His saints there by any means necessary!
I have never thought that my 46 months and 10 days in “the joint” was a waste of time. We who serve the Almighty, the Savior, do not serve in vain. On the child-production side, I had three pre-prison and eight post-prison. (The same good wife was the child-provider.)
Life here is short and eternity overshadows it. And yet, this life is ordained by God for special purposes (Does He do anything non-special?).
There is a witness in jail to be carried out by Christians – both for inmates and guards to behold. The Almighty has His purposes and leaves none of His saints to fare for themselves. He deploys the Spirit who gets done what He wills.
The Biblical/historic Job, of course, comes to mind when Christian prisoners reflect upon their situation. He displayed endurance and learned that God’s purposes are not fully understood on this side of heaven.
Press on, brother. He is with you and you are entertaining angels. Put on a good show.
Pax tecum,
MBray
