Encounter with an Honest Mormon

Mormon: “There is only one God [with whom we have to do]” (but we believe in many gods; we are polytheists like the pagans of old, says the honest Mormon in his heart).

Christian:  “Good to hear that!  And who is this God but the One: Father, Son, and Spirit who lives as love, almightily, sovereignly, and eternally?  To trust in any god other than his triune God is to err unto eternal damnation.  repent of your sins and trust in the one true God: Father, Son, and Spirit.   The Son, sent by the Father, died for your sins, and the Spirit is sent to assure you of both your condemnation without Him and the salvation available in God, the Son.

It is in the triune God,  not the gods of Mormonism, in which you must trust that you may be granted eternal life through the Son.

Mormon:  “Oh!  Thanks!  Do I need to get re-baptized?”

Christian:  Not if you already were baptized in the name of the Triune God before you lapsed into Mormonism, in which case, the Lord recovered you from the darkness into which you were temporarily ensnared.   But if you were never baptized unto salvation in the name of the Father, Son and Spirit, you need to do so.  Your pastor or elders of the Christian church which you have joined can guide you.

[May it be the case with a Mormon you know!]
