So often I thought naught
About you
You had your task
Children to bask
I had my duties to do
But you, oh you
Were always there waiting
“Look at me. ‘ttention!”
Oh yes, in due time
I’ve got mine to do
And yes I did
And we did great things
Children and justice
Were served
Life is a task, a duty
And thanks be to God
We have mates for it
And oh how glad I am
That you were mine
I love you so much
But never enough
